”I aspire to honor Earth's whimsical wonders and all of Nature's beautiful creations through my artwork. Making art for my fellow nature lovers and earth appreciators brings pure joy to my heart. Painting woodland creatures brings the outside world into my studio. Creating a rich landscape in the background of new artwork is something I recently began exploring a bit deeper within each new painting. My fascination with herbalism and healing herbs finds itself peppered into my paintings. I hope that my artwork encourages viewers to honor nature's energy and importance.
Born and raised in New Jersey, nature was a teacher of mine in a big way. Crafting with my hands and observing the natural world is what would eventually lead to the mediums I currently create with today.
I am a multi-dimensional maker and predominantly self-taught artist. Current mediums I favor are acrylic and oil paint. Occasionally, I delve into painting with gouache, creating art with bead and embroidery, and drawing with graphite or pen and ink.
Sculpting and carving are a few other mediums I adore working with. I began making hand carved stamps, and hand printing on unique papers I find, bandanas, and soon I’ll be diving into tea towels and other useful items.
I live and create in North Carolina and have a strong pull to create a focus on the amazingly varied species of the Americas. The idea of unity through art and nature, I believe, is crucial in this moment in time. My hope is to weave an invisible thread of thought through my artwork that we are connected to the natural world much more than many of us realize, and it is such a beautiful thing.”
